WCN Stands Against Racial Injustice

At WCN, we believe in a future where both wildlife and people can coexist and thrive. Yet here in the United States, generations of racism have prevented many people from achieving the quality of life that they are owed as human beings. This obscenity erodes our justice system and social infrastructure, and it also extends to the conservation community. We recognize our role in making the conservation space inclusive and safe for the Black community, and are committed to listening and learning so that we are equipped to contribute to this positive change.

In light of the current pain being felt across the U.S. and the world, we stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and against the continued systematic injustice that is happening here at home. The recent killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McDade are only the latest in a series of racial discrimination that has gone on far too long. Allowing this injustice to be the norm would be just as criminal, so it is our duty as human beings to show our condemnation of this inequality, our empathy for those who must live in fear of a system that should protect them, and our support of justice and positive change that allows everyone to live free from terror and persecution.
