Tropical Depression Bertha to dissipate by Thursday night: NHC
(Reuters) – Tropical Depression Bertha is expected to dissipate by Thursday night, with heavy rainfall spreading across Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia into West Virginia, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
Bertha is located about 40 miles (65 km) west of Greensboro, North Carolina, packing maximum sustained winds of 30 miles per hour (45 kph), the NHC said on Wednesday.
“The center of Bertha is moving farther inland while losing tropical characteristics,” the Miami-based forecaster added.
